The following equipment is used in the field of metallography:
In contrast to conventional methods of specimen removal such as sawing, we use the wet cutting process to ensure that specimens are removed with little deformation, smoothly and without heat generation. In this way we ensure that the microstructure for subsequent metallographic examinations, has not been influenced by the cutting process.
The Brillant 265 is a precision cut-off machine for large workpieces and the most difficult specimens up to a size of Ø 150 mm with a cut-off wheel size of 406 mm/16". The machine operates fully automatically and has a wide range of cutting modes such as travelling, cross-cut, diagonal, cycle cut to meet any requirement.

The Brillant 240 is a compact and flexible semi-automatic wet cut-off machine for workpieces and specimens up to Ø 95 mm with a cut-off wheel size of 254 mm/10". The machine combines advantages and speed of a manual cut-off machine with the advantages of an automatic device.

Application
Vibratory polishing is a process that allows the production of grindings with the lowest possible surface deformation. The deformation layers of the previous machining stage are carefully removed during vibratory polishing and almost no new ones are formed. This technique is particularly important for the preparation of soft and deformation-sensitive materials, such as pure copper or in the case of copper, aluminum or nickel alloys. Due to the gentle removal, the damage present in the material, e.g. porosity, is not altered by preparation, so that the number of artifacts can be significantly reduced.
