What are we working on?

At the research unit, we investigate the causes and effects of extreme floods. From precipitation statistics, flood characterisation and event analysis to hydrological modelling, we look at floods from their origin to their course in the river basin. For this purpose, we use statistical and deterministic methods, computer-based simulations and artificial intelligence.

We also offer courses in stochastic hydrology and statistical methods for students of civil and environmental engineering.
